Jack Edward Ort was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on December 17, 1938. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1956 and went on to attend Bob Jones University in South Carolina for two years where he played soccer.
He married Carol Ann (Kincaid) Ort in New Castle at the First Presbyterian Church on Highland Avenue on February 28, 1959. (See Wedding Photos Here)
He was a member of the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964, working as a pharmacist.
Jack worked for Mesta Machine Company in New Castle while obtaining his degree as a Registered Nurse from Jameson Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1973.
He worked at the Butler Memorial Hospital as a nurse, starting in 1974, and as a department manager until his retirement in 1994.
He lived in Hershey, Pennsylvania working for Allegheny Children’s Home as a nurse until 2007.
Jack was a member of the First United Brethren Church in New Castle, Pennsylvania for years, where he had many friends. He was a woodworker at heart, making all sorts of crafts and furniture in his spare time.
