Elsie Guthrie was born on August 1, 1901. She married Oran Peat on September 4, 1922 and they resided on Cherry Street in Worthington, Pennsylvania.

She passed away on October 14, 1959 of a cerebral hemorrhage caused by a long battle with cancer. She was laid to rest in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mrs. Elsie Fay (Guthrie) Peat, 58-year-old wife of Oran R. Peat of Worthington RD 2, died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 14, 1959) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Born at Cowansville Aug. 1, 1901, she was a daughter of William and Myrtle (Crawford) Guthrie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Worthington. Surviving are her husband, two daughter, Mrs. Frank (Jean) Koladish of Worthington and Mrs. Chauncey (Janet) Hooks of Alexandria, Va.; seven sons, Richard, Edwin and James of Worthington, Harland and Chalmer of Kittanning, Robert of Buffalo, N.Y., and Thomas, at home; and 16 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, of Cowansville, and one sister, Mrs. Harrison Shaffer of Cowansville. Friends are being received at Walker funeral home, Worthington, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by the pastor, the Rev. Howard O. Addleman. Interment will be in Worthington Presbyterian Church cemetery.
