Hersheypark

In 1906, Hersheypark was opened by Milton S. Hershey. Originally it was a leasure park for the employees of the Hershey Chocolate Company with access to boating, picnicking, baseball games and a pavilion for theater productions. By the 1970’s the park had expanded into a large scale theme park. Today it features many rides, including over a dozen coasters, Ferris Wheel and a water park. A great place for amusement park thrill-seekers! (photo taken August 2019)

According to the current store’s website, ownership changed in 1953 when Simon Rhoads purchased the drug store. Again in 1973 the store changed hands, expanded and was restored to its 1930’s look. Today, this landmark is a Hallmark gift shop. (photo taken August 2019)
