Truth is a beautiful thing.

Truth is not an abstract idea and truth is not relative. I firmly believe that absolute truth can be known, because God, the author of truth, has made it known to us in the Bible. This book is not some collection of cryptic messages or riddles to be solved. In it, God has revealed who He is and what He requires of us. In His Word, God has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness. I don’t have to wander aimlessly through life because God, through the written Word, has revealed truth to mankind. Consequently, my life has meaning and purpose.

During the course of my life I have encountered many ordinary people who have a vast knowledge of the Scriptures and have witnessed the stability in their lives. They have KNOWN God and they have lived victorious lives. Having been a first-hand eyewitness to God’s work and blessing in their lives, I concluded that if regular people can know God and His Word like they did, surely a common guy like myself can know Him also. And so the disciplined study of the Bible had to become a regular part of my life if I would grow in my faith.

This site is a collection of my commentary on theology, current events, and everyday blue collar life. My primary purpose is to share my own personal studies in the Scriptures and to show how the Bible has been changing my life. The content here is meant to be an encouragement to my brothers and sisters in Christ: to view everything through the lens of God’s Word, for the Scriptures are what shapes our thinking and governs our behavior.

This site is also a window into some of my personal meanderings. There are genealogy pages for those in my family who are interested. There are some photographs of various places I’ve visited. And there are other personal activities posted that may be of interest to people who know me.

I am a Christian by grace alone through faith in Christ Jesus.
I am a husband to the wife I adore.
I am a father to kids who are the joys of my life.
I am an ordinary blue collar worker at a local steel mill near Pittsburgh.
I am a photographer, always in search of ‘that amazing shot’.
