Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and Cemetery

The cemetery and the church (built in 1832 and rebuilt in 1880), is surrounded by the Bruce Mansfield Power Plant. Necessary technology and energy advancement put the nail in the coffin of rural living in Shippingport PA when this plant started up in the 1970’s. But wise humans subjugate the earth and make it work for them, harnessing its resources so we can live.

Eventually, we all end up under one of these stones. And what will matter then is not what sort of activism we engaged in, but rather what sort of relationship we had with our Creator. Amid the eerie quietness of the Bethlehem graveyard, those souls whose bodies lay in the ground are either in the agony of eternal conscious punishment of a real hell, OR engaged in an endless and joyful refrain of praise and worship in their forever heavenly home.

Jesus Christ paid our sin debt so that we can live with Him in paradise – but it’s not for everyone. This is only for those who trust in Him.

This site is a collection of my commentary on theology, current events, and everyday blue collar life. My primary purpose is to share my own personal studies in the Scriptures and to show how the Bible has been changing my life. The content here is meant to be an encouragement to my brothers and sisters in Christ: to view everything through the lens of God’s Word, for the Scriptures are what shapes our thinking and governs our behavior.
