The Corona virus panic has resulted in ‘stay at home’ orders. Closures of almost every business is forcing people to stay home. It’s an eerie feeling out. In a fast-paced society, the emptiness and quietness is almost deafening.
This photo was taken from a pedestrian walkway about Route 279 at 5:02pm during what should have been rush hour in Pittsburgh. These lanes, especially the outbound lanes, should be almost bumper to bumper traffic on a normal day.

One lonely bus drives out of the city of Pittsburgh across the Roberto Clemente Bridge. There are no pedestrians. No one entering or leaving the Byham Theater. There were people on the sidewalks behind me, but only a couple. A very quiet and disturbing scene.

The PNC Park surroundings are also calm and serene. No traffic. No people.

In a culture that thrives on buzzwords, ‘social distancing’ even found it’s way onto a street sign high above the lanes on Route 279 Northbound.
